The cost of the plate is $48 annually (the fee for North Carolina license plates is now $28, $10 of the funds will go toward N.C. highway beautification, and $10 will come back to the GBC). This is a win–win program. Individuals who purchase the plates will further support the Guilford Battleground Company and its mission, demonstrate their interest in protecting the land on which our forefathers fought for freedom, and jazz up their vehicle. The cost for personalized plates is $50.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION - PLEASE READ 

*The initial payment of $20 (or $50 for the personalized plate) should be made to the Guilford Battleground Company.

*If your current plate expires within three months of issuing the GBC plate, the DMV will write you a letter and send you a bill for the remaining $28 (the cost for a North Carolina plate). 

*If your plate expires in more than four months of issuing the GBC plate, the new GBC plate will be issued to you with the same expiration date as your current plate...and  when your plate expiration date comes up the DMV will then issue you a bill.

Purchase of the GBC license plate is just one way that individuals can support the Guilford Battleground Company and its mission, which is to sustain Guilford Courthouse National Military Park and Tannenbaum Historic Park .  The funds from the sale of the license plate will be used for preservation, conservation, and education – specifically dollars will be used for special educational programs, to enhance / update museum displays, purchase of artifacts, etc.  

When you purchase the plate you will become a Patriot member of the Guilford Battleground Company.  You will also receive our quarterly newsletter (The Patriot), which is chock full of information on park happenings and articles on colonial life in Guilford County, the Battle of Guilford Courthouse, and the Revolutionary War.  You will also receive special invitations to park events (gala openings), and invitations to special history trips.
