“Another such victory would ruin the British Army“- Lord Charles Cornwallis , Commander of British forces at the Battle of Guilford Courthouse.

This battle was the turning point of the American revolution’s Southern Campaign. Although British forces defeated General Nathanael Greene’s Continentals it was a costly victory . British casualties weakened their army to the extent that they could not occupy North Carolina and retreated to Virginia . This led to the British surrender at Yorktown, Virginia on October 19,1781.
